Though the skit isn't originally yours, you did a good job of interpreting it visually. You admit to not spending much time on the graphics, but at least I can tell what's going on and who I'm looking. You get a BIG pat on the back for not copping out and resorting to using stick figures with muppet heads on 'em! You've made a simple, tight and funny Flash piece. Good job!

An Average, But Good Piece

I'm sure I'm not getting as much out of it since I don't know your buddies, but I thought it was a well put together Flash piece. Keep up the good work!

Simple, but Effective!

What wasn't there to like about this piece? It had a beginning, middle and end. Its excellent comic timing made it funny. It was drawn in a way that fit the subject matter and the animation was clever. You can bet I'll be checking out Squigo.com!!!

I LIKE chep...uh, CHEAP special effects!

I love monsters and zombie movies so this may be a biased opinion, but I thought this piece ROCKED! I like the smart use of frame by frame animation and I think the crude drawings worked exceptionally well for the subject matter. The timing was tight! I'm looking forward to the continuation! Keep up the great work!

Mauss is definitely not playing with HIS nuts!

This piece is EXCELLENT! It's one of THE BEST executed cartoons on NG! The art is slick, the timing is spot on and the humour hits all the right beats. My only complaint is there aren't any more submissions by Mauss! GIMME MORE!!! GIMMEGIMMEGIMME!!!

Good Effort

I liked the transformation of the Valkyrie in the beginning of the piece. I thought the economy of movement worked well since it got the point across without beefing up the file size. The story flowed well. When placing text in a Flash presentation, always double check your spelling and grammar. For the few sentences there are, there are too many spelling errors and misused words. The other glitch that stands out is the blood that can be seen pooling BEHIND Rick Hunter's helmet as it pools around him. It makes it seem like he didn't have a head to begin with. Overall, it's a good effort and I look forward to seeing more!

EXCELLENT!

I don't have one negative thing to say about this piece! Pringle obviously understands traditional animation and has turned his talents to Flash with awesome results! Keep 'em coming!!!

Fine Animation

The animation was impressive for the fact that you cut corners in the right places to keep memory usage down without making the overall visual suffer. It looked slick. The sound needs to be a little clearer and the volume needs to be more consistant because I had a hard time hearing certain parts. The piece needs to be cut tighter because there are a few scenes that had too much dead air. Scenes like when the chalk hits the floor and when the girl jumps out the window would have been better served if sound effects were attached to the actions. Your name should be written properly on the copyright notice at the end of the piece - it's missing the "S". I know I've made a lot of comments on how the piece could be improved, but I wouldn't have done so if I didn't think you had a talent for Flash animation. The animation definitely shows you know what you're doing and I look forward to checking out more of your stuff!

McRhyme responds:

Thanks man I really like it when people criticize in a good way! And hey! It's nice to see that someone saw the movie. I guess you're right about the volume.. It should have been increased before I submitted the movie. I really tried to make it look good without making it to "heavy". Check out my other movie too! Thanks again.

Well done!

You definitely have a strong grasp of what a trailer should be. You've sparked my interest with your presentation. The art is spiffy, the text is intriguing and the music is excellent. My only suggestion is to improve E's walk cycle. Pick up Preston Blair's "How To Draw Cartoon Animation" which gives you step-by-step walk cycles among others. It's from the Walter Foster series of "How To" art books. Overall, you've done an excellent job and I can't wait for the series!

erich responds:

thanks. its funny that you mention preston blairs book, because that is the exact book used to create "e"s walk cycle. its good to know that a skilled animator appreciates good work.

You proved your point, but ...

... even though Flash is an awesome platform to bring creative concepts to life, it takes talent, brilliance and patience to make something worthwhile. To say this piece is a work of genius would be redundant - the piece speaks for itself. Subtlety of sound and motion and perfect timing make this piece worth watching again and again. You definitely have a cinematic eye and a knack for great storytelling. I'm an instant fan. Keep up the AWESOME work!
