Keep Makin' 'Em ...

... and I'll keep watchin' 'em! I love that li'l animated freak!

Simply Excellent!

To go ahead and cite all of the things that make this piece so awesome would almost seem redundant after viewing it! Though very short, it's incredibly tight and well paced. My favorite characters in this project are the animated circles in the preloader and opening titles. Give us some more o' that good stuff!

No, 216k Isn't Too Bad!

The car was well drawn and animated so we know you've got the potential to do something better. I've also seen A LOT of stuff on NG from people that were "bored" and your stuff definitely looks slicker than theirs! Next time, when you're bored, create a short, but don't post it on NG. Go back to it later, give it a little more thought and time and I'm sure you'll produce something really worth posting!

Driven-out responds:

Thanks. Well.. i put about an hour or so into this... so if i spend atleast 7 hours... i may have somthing relitevely interesting... but... this is only my 4th flash movie i've made. so i got some learnin to do.

THANK YOU!

You've thoroughly entertained me with this piece! It had everything an awesome animation project should have - excellent animation, dead-on timing and a gripping story! My only suggestions are (and believe me, as they are now, they're NOT a hindrance!) work on reducing the music's file size a bit more and, though I like the timbre of the actress' voice, she should enunciate clearly and read with a bit of feeling. That's my two cents. Again, as it is now, you've got a winner on your hands! Thanks again for sharing your talents!

ImageNation responds:

yeah we wish but if we lower the music any more you won't be able to understand her at all:) thanks for the review

FILE IS TOO BIG!!!

There is no way this project should be 5meg! Drop the quality a bit on the original sound file and cut it down. It's obvious you don't need the entire track for the project. The file size is what's really going to hurt you in votes and reviews. I gave you a Sound rating of zero, because, though it sounded great, it should never make your file that big. The animation was well done though it could have been a more interesting action sequence. Don't give up because you definitely have an aptitude for Flash (much more than MOST on NG!) - just work on editing your sound and I'm sure your next project will be of a much smaller file size.

That Gunshot Sound Effect Sure Goes A Long Way!

On the whole, I liked this piece! The idea's pretty cool and the art has got an offbeat style that really works!
Try editing down alot of the dead space that slows the pacing and work on the voice recordings - they were hard to understand at times. It also looks like you added the sound as an Event since mouths kept on moving long after the speech stopped. Try Streaming the sound for better syncing.
The psycho on the roof ROCKS! He reminds me of my gunslinging days on House of the Dead! Keep up the AWESOME work!

Not A Fan of Stick Figure Movies

Stick figure movies usually mean a) the author can't draw or b) the author is too lazy. This piece shows that Shaun a) can and b) isn't! The background pieces are excellent as well as the bullet spins and the missile's vapor trail. Any type of violence in a stick movie automatically gets a 0 or 1 from me because, really, how much of an impact does violence against a stick figure really have? When I saw the knife hit and the blood trickling down the stick man's head, I had to give the Violence a 5! Keep crankin' 'em out and I'll keep watchin' 'em!!!

You're On Newgrounds!

If you don't want anyone to "judge" your movie, I strongly suggest you don't put it on NG! If you made this for Jamie, why didn't you just e-mail it to her or post it on the free space you should have gotten from your ISP? 51k is hardly big enough to clog up someone's Inbox or hog up memory on free web space. Anyway, I hope at least SHE liked it!

The Talent IS There!

Referring to your response to a review - it is incredibly EASY to put art into Flash ESPECIALLY if you're an artist in Illustrator! Just create the piece in Illustrator, copy it and paste it onto the stage in Flash. I do it all the time. You have some incredible potential as evidenced in this piece. I understand you were working hard against a deadline, which hindered you a bit, but here's my two cents. Sound - when the characters speak, drop the volume on the background music. To do this, you'll need to Stream the music. Backgrounds - don't move them when they don't need to be. The opening scene in the pub does this a lot. Art - don't change a thing! It works! I hope you got a good grade on this and I look forward to seeing more stuff from you!

Not Bad

This is a solid, average piece. It shows you understand timing and have a good grasp of Flash. Put a little more work into the art and keep an eye on being consistent (MJ's glove switches hands on the Billy Jean video) and you'll have some really great looking stuff! If you keep makin' 'em, I'll keep watchin' 'em!
